35mm

Developed two films this week. One very very old film I had forgotten about which was mostly too damaged to print, plus a new one which is also a bit damaged, but weirdly they all kinda go together.

Art - Nature - Wellbeing Exhibition, Verge Gallery

'A unique exhibition which is set to explore the relationship between art, the natural world and mental health. The exhibition features work from staff and students of the Masters in Art Therapy at UWS, and explores the interdependence of human and ecological systems and its relevance for contemporary art therapy.'

This work is concerned with the aesthetics of mathematics. The presence of geometry in nature suggests that mathematics was not simply a human invention, but a system we have discovered through our observation and adaptation to the natural world. In our relationship with nature, it has made an impression upon us just as we make our impression upon it. In the same way, the relationship between therapist and client is represented. The delicate tension of transference and counter-transference illustrates how we cannot help but make impressions upon one another.
